If you want to see if the user is running the program in the foreground:

sy-subty = 4.    “Call type for submit

otherwise it is a background submit.

 

* EXAMPLE:  Display the GUI status if run in foreground otherwise don’t

if sy-subty = 4.     

  set pf-status 'GH'.

endif.
