Many installations today have a multiple 3-tier system architecture, where development and testing are performed in different systems before transporting them to production system. With the advent of BW, queries are developed directly in production challenging IT to still conform to the multiple 3-tier system architecture.
However, keeping up with the multi-tier architecture, without opening up the production environment, becomes more difficult than it seems. Most of the times companies would ask their IT departments to re-create queries in development, transport it to QA before it is sent to production. This mundane and highly error prone process is one of the reasons why ERPGenie.COM MSYS Utilities was developed.
ERPGenie.COM MSYS Utilities is a consulting solution that focuses primarily on BW Queries. Using MSys Export and MSys Import together, queries are moved from one system to another without transport. Using MSys REPORT, query objects are presented in a print layout for easy to read documentation. MSys Export and Import programs can be used to copy a query from one provider to another. This utility is extremely helpful when you have two different providers that may differ slightly and when the regular SAP given copy program fails.

Earlier it took the developers about 4 hours to copy a query from Production to Development. Now with this tool the time is drastically reduced to just a few minutes.
When the architecture of an info provider was changed and a new info provider was created (without the same info objects), developers took about 4 hours to recreate the query in the new info provider. Now using this tool it takes no more than a few minutes.
The customer uses the report tool to document the queries; this saves time and money by eliminating the creation of duplicate queries.
